Meet the Ciao Bella Staff
Sandy Collier has been a stylist since 1973 and loves what she does for a living. After receiving her degree at U of L, Sandy considered changing professions, but saw nothing that could compare with the satisfaction of developing ongoing relationships with her clients. Since buying The Chopping Block in January 2008, Sandy stays busy operating the business end of The Salon and growing new talent. She has retired from behind the chair to dedicate all her energy to running and promoting The Salon! It’s a family affair here at the Chopping Block. Sandy’s husband Don, daughter Nicole, and even granddaughter Ramsi are a huge part of the success of this family-owned business! In her spare time, Sandy enjoys golf, listening to audio books or reading her Kindle. Spending time with her grandkids is the best and she never gets enough of them! Sandy and Don have three cats that make them laugh and lighten up each day.
Don Collier is the Co-Owner and business guru behind The Chopping Block Day Spa and Salon. He and his wife Sandy bought The Salon in 2008, and have made it over into a new and even more fabulous full service salon. With a Chemistry degree, Don worked for Celanese in Louisville, and then spent twenty two years with Porter Paint in various management positions. Sudchemie was Don’s last company, where he managed businesses globally until he retired in June 2012. Don’s hope for The Chopping Block Day Spa and Salon is to allow it to evolve into the high-end salon with a family-oriented, friendly environment, filled with career-minded service providers. Don manages the finances, and is the handyman, but his primary focus is successfully developing opportunities for the staff, insuring the further growth and success of the salon.
